Your host, Penny is an inveterate collector of antiques and old barn finds. After retiring, she designed and built Thistledown Farm on the Dutch Neck Peninsula located in Waldoboro, Maine. The property includes an 1850’s hand-hewn post and beam barn, a separate rustic cottage, plus a yurt and two safari-style glamping tents in the woods. 

Penny’s private preserve, two public ones, and a hidden freshwater swimming hole are all on the Thistledown Farm road. Stay local on the farm and enjoy kayaks, lawn games, forest adventures, and weave lobstering rope doormats. Or adventure out and explore all there is to see and do nearby in this truly spectacular part of the world.
